This is the entrance exam used to gain admission to a fee-paying or state-run grammar school.
Most grammar schools (and most selective independent schools) select their students based on their performance in the 11+ examination, which essentially means that they are picking out the best and brightest students from the local area.

Is there a need for a tutor?
In light of such competition for places, it is not surprising that it is becoming increasingly difficult to locate children who have not received tutoring. The amount and type of tutoring varies from child to child: some pupils receive a little extra help so they can understand the way questions are presented; others are carefully coached from an early age. At High Learn a team of experienced teachers will assess students on a regular basis and past exam papers will be used to prepare students for the eleven plus examination.
